From the Inside Education Board of Directors
To the Partners, Supporters, and Friends of Inside Education,
I am delighted to announce that, after a comprehensive recruitment process, Kathryn Wagner has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Inside Education effective at our Annual General Meeting on May 23, 2024. Many of you already know that Kathryn brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to Inside Education’s mission of ensuring Alberta’s youth are educated and empowered stewards of our environmental and natural resources.
Since beginning her career with Inside Education in 2006, Kathryn’s passion, leadership, and innovative vision have been instrumental in shaping and expanding the organization’s educational programs, building a strong team, and making a positive impact on countless students and teachers across Alberta and to the environmental education community across Canada. The Board of Directors is looking forward to working with Kathryn in her new role to continue to advance environmental and natural resource education across Alberta.
The Board wishes to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to Steve McIsaac, who is retiring from the position of Executive Director after an impressive 18 years as ED and 32 years with the organization. Steve’s vision and dedication have been instrumental in making Inside Education a leader in Alberta’s environmental and natural resource education space and to impacting the lives and learning of more than a generation of students and teachers. Plans are being made to recognize and celebrate Steve and will be announced in the coming months.
As we transition to new leadership, I know that Kathryn will continue to lead Inside Education with the same passion and commitment that have been the hallmark of our organization.
Please join me in congratulating Kathryn on her well-deserved appointment and in extending our sincere appreciation to Steve for his outstanding contributions to Inside Education.
Sincerely,
Trent Zacharias
President and Chair of the Board Inside Education
