2024 Grasslands Summer Teacher’s Institute

July 2-5, 2024 | Southern Alberta

Tentative Program Schedule

Application deadline: April 30th, 2024

Join Inside Education for a 4-day professional development experience focused on sustainable agriculture and water management in the Grasslands region of Alberta.

Using the UN’s Sustainability Goals as a framework, we will tour the Southern Alberta landscape to understand the technologies and innovations around protecting water resources and the sustainable agriculture practices in place in Alberta. Come connect with creative producers, leading edge research, and future-focused technology to learn more about the unique ecosystem and management approaches of the grasslands region.

Themes will include wildlife, life on the land, water use and management, methane reduction and responsible consumption and production in a changing climate.

This program is open to all K-12 teachers, B.Ed students, and school administrators.

Like all Inside Education programs, this teacher PD will be completely no-cost, including a travel subsidy. Full scholarships include all meals, accommodation and transportation during the program.

2024 Summer Institute Grasslands

"This was my first PD trip with Inside Education. I was so impressed, I am greatly looking forward to future participation opportunities. All of the speakers, and particularly the facilitators were very enthusiastic about the topic. It was nice to be with facilitators who had just as much interest in the presentations as the participants did."

-Gillian Buchan, Dr. Gordon Higgins School, Calgary
